War Room: Prayer is a Powerful Weapon

When the War Room: Prayer is a Powerful Weapon Book by Chris Fabry arrived I was very excited. I love books that help focus on prayer and marriage. I started the book, but I found it too be very wordy and slow. I did however keep pressing on. The book gets better as your read. I thought the premise of the book shows how important the power of prayer is. I love the happy ending!

I saw the movie also. I thought the movie was slow just like the book. Overall the book is pretty good, but could be condensed to save the reader some agony.

9 Thoughts That Can Change your Marriage

I always jump at the opportunity to read books to improve my marriage. I think it helps me to focus on the bigger picture instead of the small stuff. 9 Thoughts That Can Change Your Marriage by Sheila Gregoire is practical and easy to read. No matter what season in marriage you are in you can find ways to better relate to your husband from reading this book.

My favorite was having the action steps that make you take your reading to the next level. You are encouraged to put what you are learning into practice. Such as catch my husband doing good or not saying anything critical.

I highly recommend adding this book to your reading list. I am sure glad I did. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review from Blogging for Books.

A Year of Living Prayerfully

Jared Brock has showed us all how to revive our prayer lives in this funny and informational book on how and why people pray. A Year of Living Prayerfully by Jared Brock was great because he visited so many interesting places and people. While reading it you will thoroughly enjoy all the stories. It will make you think you are right there while it is taking place. Brock writes about his personal journey on what prayer should be with a variety of different religious and non-religious figures. He is a very unconventional guy that travels across the globe to gain a closer relationship with the Lord.

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to be entertained and challenged to grow deeper spiritually. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

My Battle Against Hitler Book Review

Dietrich Von Hildbrand wrote the book My Battle Against Hitler. Hildebrand was a German Roman Catholic philosopher-theologian who, early on, warned and wrote against the rise of Nazism. He was a very intelligent and driven man. Hildbrand was a Catholic who was opposed to the Third Riech. He personal story showed the true evils that were unfolding in his time, which is very close to what is happening in America today. The book was very educational, but also motivating the reader to be brave and stand up for what is right.

I would recommend this to anyone that has an interest in history. The book did start out a little slow, but it picked up. I was given this book by Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest review.

In This House We Will Giggle

I was very interested in reading the book In This House We Will Giggle by Courtney DeFeo. I love that each chapter is another virtue to work on with your family. There are virtues such as joy, forgiveness, patience, and responsibility. In each chapter the author gives scripture, activities, and her real life perspective on how to implement this virtue into your family. I loved her funny personality and her love for the Lord. I was encouraged to be a better mom and live a more purposeful life because of the book. It took me longer than average to read the book because I wanted to implement each chapter with my family. I feel this book helped me to have a better perspective on being a mom.

Slaying the Debt Dragon

The book Slaying the Debt Dragon by Cherie Lowe is a great read. I finished it within 24 hours. If you are a fan of Dave Ramsey then this book is for you. The principles in this book follow his advice. The great thing about this book is this families personal journey in paying off 127 K. I really took away from the book looking at how we spend our money. I am encouraged to make a budget, meal plan and use coupons. I realized that my family is wasting a lot of money. I liked how they put the Lord first and worked hard to pay off their debt. I loved reading the other inspirational stories of other people paying off debt. I found this book to be a good refresher course for the Dave Ramsey class. This is a must read for people wanting to pay off debt.
