Modern Pioneering

Modern Pioneering by Georgia Pellegrini is a wonderful guide to cooking, home projects, and natural living concepts. I was intrigued by all the wonderful pictures and easy to follow directions. It is so refreshing to be able to see what your end product is supposed to look like. At first I was expecting more of a cookbook, but as I read it I was pleasantly surprised with all of the other knowledge like how to make a pocket-size 48 hour survival kit. I found the book to be very useful. I have tried numerous recipes with success. I am very interested in trying to make dandelion wine.

I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in natural living and non-processed foods. I will keep this book as a reference manual. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Simplify

Simplify: Ten Practices to Unclutter Your Soul is Bill Hybels’ newest book. Bill Hybel is a pastor from Willow Creek Church. He is a passionate writer. I enjoyed the easy to read tone and practical tips. I could really relate to the overscheduled, anxious, and meaningless topics. I was able to take the practical advice and apply it to my life. I started taking a class and working on my public speaking. Hybels has you concentrate on where you want to be in life and make steps in that direction.

Simplify was an easy read, but I felt I had to read it slower to start implementing the steps in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to become a better more successful person. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
