The teen years can be very difficult. So many people get mixed up in the wrong crowd. Popular by Tindell Baldwin is amazing book that discusses those hardships. The book takes you through the destructive path that so many teens take and the emotions that come with those choices. Baldwin tells her story of how she was raised in a Christian home, but choose to walk away from the Lord. The story however does have a happy ending after going through so much pain and sorrow she recommitted her life to Jesus.

The way the author is able to tell her story about sex, drugs, alcohol, and so much more is so intriguing. Reading the book just draws you into her story and you feel like you were the one going through everything. The great thing about the book is both teens and moms will love it because of the topic matters. The book is hard to put down. I highly recommend this book for moms with teen girls.

Do you need some motivation or a deeper walk with the Lord? Firsthand by Ryan and Josh Shook will be the book to push you to a new level. This is a life changing book for any age, although it seems more geared to young adults. The life stories from these brothers were interesting and motivating. They share their journey from growing up in a Christian home and making the choice to serve the Lord. The book included short quotes from individuals across the globe, discussion questions at the end of each chapter, and ideas for change. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to make their faith deeper and especially young adults. This book impacted my life and it is one that I will share with my friends.

The Passionate Mom Dare to Parent in Today's World

Parenting can be very challenging, but reading parenting books can ease the pain. The Passionate Mom by Susan Merrill used biblical advice based on Nehemiah. She broke the book into 10 main themes that all began with the letter P. At first I thought that was a little corny, but the concepts were all useful. I learned practical parenting advice such as prayer, pondering, and patience. The book was an easy read and was filled with many helpful ideas. I loved how the book flowed and her own personal journey. The examples from her children were very entertaining. I would recommend this book to any mom that wants to take parenting to the next level. This will be a parenting book that I will keep as a resource.
